Dotyky života / Touching Life is a project of Paulína Očkaj, an artist capturing being out of nothingness in various forms – from poetry to dishware.
In her work, Paulína asks existential questions with humor and lightness. She challenges the concepts of everyday objects, inviting us to be fully present and open to life as it unfolds: weird, colorful, uncomfortable, raw, funny, terrifying, beautiful, fragile, absurd – and always poetic.
In an age of instant answers, she creates space for questions:
What did you have for breakfast today?
What's your favourite number?
Where do you end and where do you begin?
Do you floss?
How do you feel the passing of time?
How does it taste?
How does it sound when being emerges from nothingness?
Should it be possible to write in a diary?
How many is too many?
Should an earring have its own earring?
How about a coffee mug?
Is everything going according to plan?
Gotta light?
What do you feel under your fingertips?
What is an ear and what is an earring?
Can a ring have one too?
And why does a thin red thread of glass beads carry an anchor?
